Most campers first learn about camp from their dermatologist, leading them to a life-changing experience. Help your patients find a community of acceptance where they can enjoy summer camp alongside others with skin conditions.

Camp Discovery is open to patients between the ages of 8-16. We host kids with a variety of conditions, from eczema and psoriasis, to vitiligo and alopecia, to epidermolysis bullosa and ichthyosis.
The skin condition does not need to be severe. If it impacts a child’s life physically, socially, or emotionally, they’re eligible. Dermatologists and nurses assist with campers’ daily care regimens and monitor their overall health. Our staff can support patients who need more extensive care, such as regular bandage changes.
Campers are with us for one week. Our camps are located in Arizona, Connecticut, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Texas. The AAD covers the cost of flights for campers. There are no fees or other costs for camper families.
We encourage you to submit referrals by April 10, 2026. However, we will continue to accept referrals as long as space remains available. After you complete the referral form, a staff member from the AAD will contact the family and guide them through the rest of the registration process for camp.

“My dermatologist, Dr. Lacey Kruse, first told me about camp and my parents sent me that next summer. I had so much fun and made new friends who I now look forward to seeing every summer. It was cool to meet other kids with skin conditions and the counselors are really nice too. Everyone supports each other there. I really like all of the fun camp activities. My favorite thing at camp is tubing and wake surfing!”
